✨ The Transfiguration of the Lord ✨
Today, our students explored the powerful Gospel story of the Transfiguration—a moment where Jesus is revealed in dazzling glory alongside Moses and Elijah, and a voice from the heavens proclaims, “This is my Son, whom I love… listen to Him!”
At first glance, it’s a dramatic display of divine power and mystery. But through a post-critical lens, our students and staff have begun to wonder: what if the most important part of this story isn't the shining clothes or heavenly voices… but the quiet, human response?
After the light fades and the cloud disappears, Jesus gently touches His friends and says, “Do not be afraid.” In a world where children are often overwhelmed by expectations, noise, and uncertainty, this story reminds us that divine moments aren’t just about grand revelations—but about being present, comforting, and steadfast when others are afraid.
💬 What if the Transfiguration is less about changing Jesus and more about changing the disciples?
💬 What if it invites us to see the divine in each other, especially in times of fear, doubt or silence?
As a community, we are being invited to listen—not just to loud voices or shining moments—but to the whisper of God in everyday life.
🕊️ "This text speaks to us of a world in which... God is revealed in both glory and gentleness."
