Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, a moment of profound faith and divine invitation. This feast marks the angel Gabriel’s message to Mary, announcing that she would conceive and bear the Son of God. Mary's courageous "yes" to God's plan opened the way for Christ to enter the world. It is a day to reflect on trust, grace, and our own response to God’s call in our lives. Please join us in this prayer: God of possibility and promise, Today we remember Mary, who heard Your call and responded with courage. Her "yes" was not blind obedience, but a deep trust in Your unfolding mystery. May we, too, hear Your voice in the unexpected, in the questions, in the quiet stirrings of our hearts. May we embrace the unknown with faith, knowing that You are present in every beginning. Let Christ be conceived in us today— in our words, in our choices, in our love for others. As Mary carried Him into the world, may we bear His light in our own time and place. Amen.

Commitment to Close the Gap clear for Western Sydney Catholic schools

Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) has released its first annual Closing the Gap report. This report outlines its contribution to improving socio-economic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, particularly students and their families. CSPD Chief Executive Officer Jack de Groot said the report reflects the dedication of CSPD’s 6 500 staff in fostering reconciliation and equity through the organisation’s 80 outstanding school across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
