At this time of crisis, the Diocese of Parramatta’s network of early-years education and care services provides a vital service for families who continue to require childcare, in particular any family involved in providing essential services.
During the Term One school holidays, vacation care services will begin on Tuesday 14 April and operate at the following 11 locations:
- St Michael’s Primary School Blacktown South
- St Bernadette’s Primary School Castle Hill
- Bethany Catholic Primary School Glenmore Park
- Holy Cross Primary School Glenwood
- St Monica’s Primary School North Parramatta
- Good Shepherd Primary School Plumpton
- Mary Immaculate Primary School Quakers Hill
- Catholic Learning Community of St John XXIII Stanhope Gardens
- Mother Teresa Primary School Westmead
- St Paul the Apostle Primary School Winston Hills
- Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary School Wentworthville
Vacation care is available to all families regardless of whether their children are enrolled at Catholic schools or elsewhere.
Each Catholic Out of School Hours Care centre will have COVID-19 protocols in place, and are keeping in close contact with NSW Health regarding the latest NSW and Federal Government advice.

🩵💙 Today, we celebrated the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven. At Mary Immaculate, we are a Marian School, meaning “Mary school”. We have a special love for Mary and try to follow her good example every day. God took Mary to Heaven because she was very special. She had a strong faith, was a loving wife, and most importantly, the mother of Jesus. Today we joyfully celebrated our school feast day — the Feast of the Most Immaculate Heart of Mary. 💙 This special day invited us not only to honour Mary, whose heart is a symbol of compassion, courage, and unwavering love, but also to reflect on the kind of hearts we are forming in our own lives and community. We extend our deepest thanks to the Catholic Youth Parramatta team for leading us in prayer, worship and reflection; to our Liturgical Dancers, Little Saints Junior Youth Choir, Faith in Action Leaders, and to Roger from St Vincent de Paul for inspiring us with real stories of service. We also thank Father Oliver for guiding us through a meaningful Eucharistic celebration. To our incredible Mary Immaculate community — thank you for your generous donations to the Vinnies Winter Appeal. Your faith in action is a living reflection of Mary’s own example. In the joy and energy of the day, the face of God shone brightly through our students — in their words of hope, their thoughtful gestures, and their ability to see and serve others with love. Stage 2 Soccer Gala Day ⚽🌬️ What a windy day it was—but that didn’t stop our Stage 2 boys and girls from giving it their all on the soccer field! All teams played with fantastic spirit and teamwork. A huge congratulations to both girls' teams who came out on top in their pools! 🏆👏 The girls are excited to share their success, and we can’t wait to present them with their medals at school. 🥇 Thank you to all the parents who came to support—and a special shoutout to our amazing parent coaches for helping the teams do their best. On Thursday we will honour the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary as a school community. The heart of Mary, often shown encircled by roses, pierced, and aflame, speaks of a faith that is deeply felt and courageously lived. it is not removed from the world's pain but holds it with compassion. At Mary Immaculate Primary School, we see this message echoed in our school crest - hands holding a heart - and the words: In love and service. This logo is more than just an image. It reflects the very heart of our mission: to form people who lead with empathy, offer their gifts for others, and live out their faith through action. The St Vincent de Paul logo also echoes this call. It features two hands - one larger, protective hand and one smaller, uplifted hand - symbolising the act of reaching out, supporting the vulnerable, and restoring dignity. Like Mary's heart, these hands show us that faith is not passive; it is movement, it is care, it is service. These symbols come together as a powerful visual dialogue. They speak of the same hope: That we might be people whose hearts are open and whose hands are ready to serve. These images speak to me of a world in which love is courageous, service is sacred, and every hand extended in kindness becomes a mirror of Mary's heart.
