The CUA School Fun Run program empowers kids, schools and communities to come together to raise much needed funds for their schools and communities, while learning about setting and achieving financial goals, all in a healthy, active environment.
Mary Immaculate have so far raised $20,000 to develop the lower playground into a basketball/netball area and shaded space that will allow students to develops healthy life-style opportunities.
Designed for Australian schools, the CUA School Fun Run started as a way of providing a healthy alternative to chocolate drives for schools around the country.
Not only does the program assist in raising much needed funds for your school, it also benefits the students directly, with valuable lessons in financial goal setting as well as the obvious health benefits associated with taking part in and preparing for a fun run.

โ๏ธโจ Six hundred prayers. Not copied. Not rehearsed. Not the same. Each one written by a student at Mary Immaculate for our upcoming Catholic Mission Day, as we hold Zambia close in our hearts. What struck me wasnโt just the number, but the diversity of voices. Some prayers read like poetry. Some were bold pleas for justice. Others were simple, childlike hopes for clean water, good harvests, and peace. Mission, at its best, isnโt about doing for others, but being with them. And in those 600 prayers, our students showed they understand that deeply. ๐๐ Catholic Mission

๐๐ Today we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary โ the belief that Mary, at the end of her earthly life, was taken body and soul into heaven.๐๐ Often we focus on this as a moment of honour for Mary, recognising her closeness to God. But perhaps there is another perspective to consider: the Assumption is also a sign of what God desires for each of us. Maryโs life reminds us that our bodies and our lives matter โ that Godโs love is not only for our souls, but for the whole of who we are. โจ The Transfiguration of the Lord โจ Today, our students explored the powerful Gospel story of the Transfigurationโa moment where Jesus is revealed in dazzling glory alongside Moses and Elijah, and a voice from the heavens proclaims, โThis is my Son, whom I loveโฆ listen to Him!โ At first glance, itโs a dramatic display of divine power and mystery. But through a post-critical lens, our students and staff have begun to wonder: what if the most important part of this story isn't the shining clothes or heavenly voicesโฆ but the quiet, human response? After the light fades and the cloud disappears, Jesus gently touches His friends and says, โDo not be afraid.โ In a world where children are often overwhelmed by expectations, noise, and uncertainty, this story reminds us that divine moments arenโt just about grand revelationsโbut about being present, comforting, and steadfast when others are afraid. ๐ฌ What if the Transfiguration is less about changing Jesus and more about changing the disciples? ๐ฌ What if it invites us to see the divine in each other, especially in times of fear, doubt or silence? Today our Year 1 students visited the Church to learn more about the Sacrament of Baptism and how we are initiated into the Church family. We were blessed to have Mr Saliba and Fr Stefan OFM Conv (visiting from Italy!) guide the session. The highlight for the children was a Baptism reenactment, where they experienced the symbols and rituals that welcome us into Godโs family.

โจ Staff Spirituality Day โจ Today our staff stepped into a different way of engaging with Scripture through biblical micrography. Using the passage โYou are the salt of the earthโฆ You are the light of the worldโ (Matthew 5:13โ16), we created artwork formed entirely from the text itself. This was not just an art activity, it was an invitation to reflect deeply. What does it mean for us, in 2025, to be salt and light in our school, parish, and wider world? Rather than simply repeating what we already know, we asked new questions: ๐ How can our Catholic tradition speak into todayโs challenges? ๐ก What fresh insights emerge when Scripture and creativity meet? ๐ค How do we carry our faith into real action for others? In shaping these images, we also reshaped our own understanding, discovering together how the Word continues to illuminate our path and call us forward as a community of faith.
