What's It Really Like to Send Your Kid to a Catholic School?

A 2025 study using HILDA data found Catholic school graduates were, on average, more likely to be employed, reported higher life satisfaction and better general health, were more likely to donate to charity, and earned a 4-11% wage premium vs government-school peers after controls.

And the fees question - it's more affordable than people assume.
Catholic education isn't the exclusive, expensive world some parents imagine. Fees are kept as low as possible, with families paying less each day than they'd spend on everyday essentials like lunch or parking. Sibling discounts are available, flexible payment plans are standard and schools work with families experiencing genuine financial hardship. No family is turned away simply because of their inability to pay.

The bottom line:
Catholic schools today are inclusive, high-achieving, values-driven communities. The best way to see what one is really like is to experience it firsthand. Attend an open day or speak with staff about the programs and community that make each school unique.

We are excited for tomorrow’s performance by Alyssa Delpopolo. All families will need to sign in using a QR code, which will need to be shown to staff upon entry. Please note this is not a public event; this is only for families of currently enrolled students. Only the Front gate and Paterson gate will be open from 2:15 pm and close promptly at 2:25 pm. Due to the expected crowd, there will be standing room only to accommodate as many families as possible. Students cannot be collected during the performance. If you need to pick up your child, please do so before 2:10pm (end of amended afternoon tea time). No students will be sent to the office during the performance.

💙💙 Today we celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary — the belief that Mary, at the end of her earthly life, was taken body and soul into heaven.💙💙 Often we focus on this as a moment of honour for Mary, recognising her closeness to God. But perhaps there is another perspective to consider: the Assumption is also a sign of what God desires for each of us. Mary’s life reminds us that our bodies and our lives matter — that God’s love is not only for our souls, but for the whole of who we are. In a world that can sometimes separate the spiritual from the everyday, Mary’s Assumption tells us that the ordinary parts of life — our work, relationships, struggles, and joys — are all caught up in God’s plan for wholeness and resurrection. It’s a celebration not just of Mary’s story, but of the hope that is promised to us all. 💙

Father’s Day is fast approaching, and we can’t wait to welcome our special visitors on site! 💙 This year, our Father’s Day celebrations coincide with Jersey Day, inspired by the legacy of Nathan Gremmo, a young man whose organ donation saved the lives of others. As a Catholic community, we honour this call to give the gift of life, reflecting Jesus’ teaching to love and serve others. ✨ The Transfiguration of the Lord ✨ Today, our students explored the powerful Gospel story of the Transfiguration—a moment where Jesus is revealed in dazzling glory alongside Moses and Elijah, and a voice from the heavens proclaims, “This is my Son, whom I love… listen to Him!” At first glance, it’s a dramatic display of divine power and mystery. But through a post-critical lens, our students and staff have begun to wonder: what if the most important part of this story isn't the shining clothes or heavenly voices… but the quiet, human response? After the light fades and the cloud disappears, Jesus gently touches His friends and says, “Do not be afraid.” In a world where children are often overwhelmed by expectations, noise, and uncertainty, this story reminds us that divine moments aren’t just about grand revelations—but about being present, comforting, and steadfast when others are afraid. 💬 What if the Transfiguration is less about changing Jesus and more about changing the disciples? 💬 What if it invites us to see the divine in each other, especially in times of fear, doubt or silence? As a community, we are being invited to listen—not just to loud voices or shining moments—but to the whisper of God in everyday life. 🕊️ "This text speaks to us of a world in which...
